3. Batman Begins (2005)
An unpopular opinion to start the list off; Batman Begins is a lacklustre opening to one of cinemas greatest trilogies. It starts off painfully slow and even after the origin story it takes an awfully long time to pick up to full pace. When it does eventually pick up it is great but it left a lot to be desired from a promising new trilogy in the Batman storyline. While there were a few iconic moments throughout the film still just does not hold up to the later films or just most superhero films that came after as it goes down in history as the ok one that spawned an iconic trilogy.
2. The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
An extremely underrated film. The most ambitious, action-packed film in the trilogy. While Batman does not occupy a huge majority of the film, it becomes a much wider narrative about the people of Gotham and how batman has impacted the city. Bane is an incredibly compelling villain who becomes both intimidating and also a character that the audience can understand over the course of the film. One of the greatest movie villains ever created, against one of the most iconic protagonists ever put to film. The box office dollars caught ablaze as the final film in the trilogy impressed audiences and left them begging for more.
1. The Dark Knight (2008)
Any film that introduces the greatest movie villain of all time is bound to land at number 1 on any list, but the Dark Knight is so much more than just the Joker. All of the characters are solid and the acting is superb. While the action sequences are not as grand as some people would have liked, the dark knight still managed to deliver on all other fronts. Heath Ledger delivered a compelling performance as the joker and the fantastic cinematography and storytelling of director Christopher Nolan made critics and fans alike sing the praises of this film and regard it as the greatest superhero film ever made. RIP Heath Ledger.
